What is a task?
Tasks are the specific actions required to accomplish tasks throughout the various phases of your roadmap, from Discovery to Deployment. Only users designated as Makers can be assigned tasks. They clearly define the role and responsibilities of each team member in the product development process.
What is a Phase?
Phases represent the key stages in the lifecycle of your roadmap. There are four phases:
- Discovery: This is the phase for understanding user needs. Here, you conduct research and analyze problems to define potential solutions.
- Crafting: This is the step where you create functional specifications and design. You transform the insights from Discovery into wireframes and mockups ready to be developed.
- Development: This step involves technical design and development. Your teams build the product according to the established specifications.
- Deployment: This is the final phase, where the product is tested, deployed, and communicated to users. This includes quality assurance (QA) and customer interactions.
Examples of tasks associated with each phase:
- Discovery: User research
- Crafting: Design / Specifications
- Development: Development / Architecture
- Deployment: QA / Client Communication
What is a Workflow?
A Workflow is an organized series of steps or actions to follow in order to deliver a backlog item. Each task can have its own workflow, adapted to your organizational processes. A default workflow is provided for each task, but you can customize it to fit your needs.
Default Workflow:
- Initial Status: Backlog (cannot be modified)
- Intermediate Statuses: Customizable, allowing you to add as many statuses as necessary to reflect your current methods.
- Final Statuses: Processed and KO. If an item reaches the KO status, you can define which phase and task the item should automatically return to.
