What is it for?

Synchronizing My Focus with JIRA allows teams, particularly development teams, to continue using their familiar tools while benefiting from the advantages of RoadmapHero. This integration facilitates real-time task and priority tracking by leveraging the features of both platforms. It enables you to efficiently manage your sprints and Kanban boards while maintaining perfect alignment with your organization's strategic goals.

Prerequisites: creating a custom field in JIRA

Before synchronizing My Focus with JIRA, you need to configure a custom field to manage prioritization. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Access project settings: Go to your JIRA project settings.
  2. Custom fields: Navigate to the custom fields section.
  3. Create a new field: Create a field of numeric type or dropdown type, according to your needs.
  4. Configure the field: Name the field, for example, Priority Score, and configure its possible values if you are using a dropdown list.
  5. Add to ticket type: Ensure that this field is available on the relevant screens of the ticket types so that users can use it.

How does it work?

Once JIRA is synchronized with a skill in RoadmapHero, a specific JIRA ticket is created for each skill as soon as planning is completed. These tickets are then synchronized with RoadmapHero to ensure consistency between the two platforms.

When is a ticket sent to JIRA?

Tickets are sent to JIRA during planning, with a ticket generated for each skill involved. As many tickets as skills connected to JIRA will be generated. The name of the skill will be visible in JIRA, making it easy to filter and launch your sprints or Kanban boards.

What information is synchronized?

Bidirectional Synchronization (RoadmapHero ↔️ JIRA)
