What are the ticket statuses in the backlog?
As you may have noticed, the tickets in your backlog have a status. Here is what each of them means:
- Draft: The ticket is not yet complete, and you paused its creation partway through. You can resume creating it at any time. It's like a draft that you can polish when inspiration strikes!
- To score: Some information is missing to calculate the priority of your ticket. You can complete this information or manually enter a priority score. Think of it like an exam where you need to fill in all the fields before getting a grade.
- To plan: Your ticket is ready to be integrated into your roadmap. All that remains is to plan it. We'll explain how to do that here. It's like standing on a train platform, ready to board.
- Archived: The ticket has been archived at your request. It sleeps peacefully until you decide to wake it up.
How to view my backlog?
Alright, we promise we’re not underestimating you; we know you’ve all seen the backlog menu. But what you may not have discovered yet are all the solutions available to view your backlog according to your needs:
- Groups: You can group the tickets in your backlog. It's a bit like sorting your socks by color—it makes life easier!
- Views: View your backlog in a list or column format (except when grouped by Initiatives / Pain). Choose what suits you best for clarity.
- Filters: Use product or type filters that are directly accessible to ease your reading.
- Advanced filters: Filter your backlog according to your current needs. Even better, apply this filter by default (note that this can also be a bad idea if you forget it’s in place).
- Field display: Choose the fields you want to display and keep this choice long-term if it suits you. Customize your dashboard as you like!
- Search: Type what you’re looking for, and we’ll immediately identify the item in your backlog. It’s like having a magic wand to find your lost keys.
How to modify an existing ticket in the backlog?
Modifying a ticket in your backlog is quick and easy. Simply click on the ticket you want to modify, and update the entered values according to your needs. Whether you need to adjust the description, change the status, or update the dependencies, you have complete control to make the necessary modifications. And there you go—your ticket is up to date, and information is saved instantly!
How to manage dependencies between tickets?
Managing dependencies between tickets is crucial to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated workflow. With RoadmapHero, you can easily indicate dependencies directly within each ticket.
When editing a ticket, look for the section dedicated to dependencies. You can select and list the tickets that must be completed before this one can be finalized. This allows you to easily visualize the relationships between different tasks.
